China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has officially listed the Hyundai Ioniq V in its regulatory documents, signaling the automaker’s aggressive push into the Chinese electric vehicle market. Built on the dedicated E‑GMP electric platform, the new model will be offered in two powertrain options: a fully electric version (BEV) and an extended-range electric version (EREV), both supporting 800‑volt fast charging.
The Ioniq V measures 4,900 mm in length and features a sleek fastback design. Its advanced cabin includes a 27‑inch 4K display, ambient lighting, and a “Cyber Eye” augmented reality head‑up display. Hyundai has integrated artificial intelligence systems and formed strategic partnerships with Momenta, CATL, and Baidu to enhance the vehicle’s smart capabilities.
As part of its broader electrification strategy, Hyundai plans to launch 20 new models in China over the coming years, aiming to strengthen its footprint in the world’s largest automotive market.
