The Los Angeles Dodgers have reshuffled their pitching staff for the third day in a row, calling up right-handed pitcher Wyatt Mills from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday while sending right-hander Paul Gervase back to the minors.
Mills, 31, is expected to make his Dodgers debut after signing as a free agent with the club in August, following his release by the Boston Red Sox. This season at Oklahoma City, he posted a 3-2 record with a 3.26 ERA in 14 relief appearances, striking out 28 batters and walking seven over 19 1/3 innings.
The veteran last pitched in the majors in 2022, holding a career 0-1 mark with a 6.21 ERA in 38 relief outings for the Seattle Mariners and Kansas City Royals. He missed two full seasons after undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2023.
Gervase, 25, made his season debut with the Dodgers on Saturday, allowing one run over three innings while striking out five. Over seven career big-league appearances across the past two seasons, he carries a 3.97 ERA.
